Fellow IT professionals will understand the title of our first blog – it’s the first thing that came to mind when trying to figure out what to say here. We created this blog as a way for us to share our travel adventures with family and friends, and as a motivator for us to continue marching towards our goal of having a lifestyle that is conducive to travelling as much as we want throughout the year. We still have a ways to go before we get there, but in the mean time having a place to document our stories will keep us focused on our goal and allow our families and friends to follow along.
Some things to know about us?
- We are high school sweethearts. Our relationship began our Senior year of high school and we have been together ever since. Tony proposed about 6 months after we graduated from college, and we got married on a beach in the Florida Keys 9 months after that. We like to joke that we have a very unique marriage…one in which we really enjoy spending time with each other, lol.
- We have a rescue dog and named Chewy that travels with us as much as possible. We are big rescue advocates and can’t help but pet every dog (or any animal, really) that we meet on a day-to-day basis.
- We are vegetarians. Being from Texas this is practically unheard of and, although we still miss meat at times, we feel great about our decision to not eat it. Occasionally we can be found eating sushi or fish, but it’s not a regular occurrence. We both have other dietary restrictions due to health issues, but we’ve found that eating as non-processed as possible helps us to feel our best with the exception of an occasional carb or sugar on the weekends (we would go crazy if we didn’t indulge sometimes!)
- We just bought an RV! I know…where did that come from? We’ve been thinking about it for a long time and finally decided to BE about it, instead of TALKING about it (this is literally the exact pep-talk we were saying out loud to ourselves). We both sit in front of computers all day craving to be outside, travelling, exploring, running, cycling, and being with the dog. After reading lots of different travel blogs and researching different options we decided that buying a small Class B RV would allow us to continue working our normal jobs while travelling more and having Chewy with us. We are still very new to the whole thing but we’re excited about it and have already begun planning where our long weekend trips will be. A more detailed post about the RV will come soon.
So that pretty much sums it up, right? Oh! We live in Central Florida! We were both raised in Houston, Texas but came to Florida for Tony’s job about 1.5 years ago. I’m not going to lie, we really miss our family and friends in Texas, but the outdoor scene in Florida has been great so far. We’re really trying to soak up our time here visiting as many beaches and fun cities as we can while we are here. Another reason why the RV will be so great!
Thanks so much for tuning in and following our adventures, we hope to hear from you in the comments if you have any advice you’d like to give or questions to ask.
